28 April is the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. It has been held already since 2003, to promote safe, healthy and decent work conditions and to remember the victims of occupational accidents and diseases
Every year:
2 million people die due to occupational accidents or diseases
270 million occupational accidents happen
160 million occupational diseases are diagnosed
2 800 trillion dollars are spent on lost working time, treatment, compensation and rehabilitation
