What is UIAA?

The International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation was founded in 1932 in Chamonix, France, where 20 climbing associations met in the Alpine Congress.

At present, it brings together 80 member associations in 50 countries, representing around 2.5 million people.

The main objective of UIAA is to promote the development and protection of climbing worldwide, in particular through safety and ethical approaches to mountaineering. It promotes a responsible approach, culture and environmental protection.
