It is an international organisation that represents independent inspection, testing and certification providers (TIV = Testing, Inspection, Certification).
It brings together more than 100 member companies and organisations operating in more than 160 countries, covering every continent and speaking with one voice around the world.
The TIC Council was formed by the merger of the former IFIA (International Federation of Inspection Agencies) and CEOC International to better represent the sector at a global level.
The TIC Council engages governments and key stakeholders to promote effective solutions that protect the public, facilitate trade and encourage innovation.
With the expertise and competence of its members, the TIC Council is a valuable resource for policy makers worldwide on how the use of TIC services can bring value to society and promotes best practices in safety, quality, health, ethics and sustainability.
The TIC Council supports the development of international standards and regulations that protect consumers without hindering innovation or placing unnecessary burdens on industry.
In addition, all TIC Council members are committed to the highest ethical standards and integrity, as membership of the TIC Council requires the mandatory application of a code of compliance that is verified annually by an external audit.
Membership of the TIC Council brings together extensive technical knowledge and know-how from the most traditional sectors such as industrial or commodity inspection, product testing and certification, to emerging technologies such as blockchain, cybersecurity or the Internet of Things.
