LVD - electrical safety - according to the European directive (2014/35/EU)

LVD (The Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU) which mandates that electrical and electrical equipment within certain voltage limits eliminates health and safety risks. Specifically, it is a device operating with an input or output voltage between:

50-1000 V AC
75-1500 V DC

The Directive covers a wide range of products for both professional and home use.¨

Tests of ingress protection of electrical equipment
Electrical welding sources
Calculations of the safety integrity level (SIL)
Other electrical engineering installations

WHAT IS ASSESSED:

Basic tests - leakage currents, continuity of protective circuits, IP xx ingress protection, protection against contact with live parts, etc.
Technical documentation (operating and maintenance instructions, electrical wiring diagrams)

MOST FREQUENT PROBLEMS:

Shortcomings in the technical documentation
Accessible live parts - insufficient insulation, IP xx ingress protection ...
